Ministers of Grace (MoG) Bylaws: This document
establishes the basic principles of the household.
Description: The MoG are a group of friends dedicated
to supporting the Amtgard community as a whole and by
extension the kingdoms in which our members reside.
Given the rather nebulous nature of that goal, it is
fortunate for us that Amtgard already has an award to
measure a single group’s support for a given Kingdom -
the flame. It is our intention to earn as many such
orders as possible.
Guidelines for Membership: First and foremost
potential members should have a deep and abiding love
for the club and be willing to work for its
betterment.
Table of Organization: As a clarification privileges
are cumulative in nature.
Founders: The original four members of the household,
Rand, Calidor, Lindin and Selene. Founders serve for
life, and are responsible for inducting new members
and governing the household as a whole. In the
unlikely event one of these positions becomes open,
the remaining founders can chose to elect a
replacement via a simple majority vote.
Lord and Lady of the House: Rand and Selene hold the
titles Lord and Lady of the House, but have no more
authority than any other founder in regards to
governing the household.
Councilor: A full member created by a unanimous vote
of the founders. Once a person is made a full member,
they retain that title until such time as they resign
their commission or are expelled. New Councilors will
be gifted with a belt favor but are responsible for
securing other items on their own. Councilors enjoy
the following privileges:
- They may wear the household's colors and arms in
the form of a tabard and upon their shield.
- Councilors have the right to vote on new service projects.
Uniform: The household's colors are black, blue and
white, and our device is the stylized Greek letters
for Alpha and Omega. The device generally takes the
form of a black background with blue and white stripes
over which an Alpha and Omega symbol is superimposed.
The household's uniform and devices are reserved for
members only. Items bearing our device and colors
should not be lent to non-members.
Expelling Members: Members who regularly fail to
uphold the household’s standards or flagrantly violate
mundane law may well face expulsion from the household.
Any active member who can provide just cause may call
a vote of expulsion via a formal meeting. It takes a
unanimous vote of the founders to expel the member in
question. Obviously the accused party may not vote on
this motion.
Resignations: Members who state their intentions to
resign either to the Lord of the House or the house
email list are no longer considered members. Former
members who wish to rejoin at a later date must again
under go the voting process as outlined above.
Membership Standards: Members are expected to treat
each other well, support the household in its goals,
uphold the bylaws, regularly display the colors and
generally act in a manner befitting a reasonable and
mature human being. Members who cannot meet these
requirements are expected to resign.
Procedural Irregularities: Procedural Irregularities
occur when a member is added or raised by means other
than those described in this document. Most
commonly this occurs when one person promotes or
invites another to join with out the permission of the
founders. Should this come to pass, the party in
question is immediately removed as a member.
Meetings: In order to give adequate notice at least
two weeks notice shall be given for a formal meeting.
Members can also expect to have a meeting of some sort
at every CK event. Our official method of
communication is the house email list, however a good
faith effort will be made to reach members who for
what ever reason are known to be electronically
incommunicado.
Proxies: In the event that a proxy is necessary, they
must be submitted in writing to the Lord or Lady no
later than 24 hours before the meeting. Proxies that
do not meet these criteria will be disregarded.
Service Projects: As a part of our household's efforts
to support the club, we regularly intend to regularly
host various events or undertake tasks for our
kingdom. House-sponsored projects are those that have
been agreed upon by a simple majority vote held at a
formal meeting. Members are expected to render all
available assist the household in these matters.
Matters of Substance: Changes to the bylaws require a
formal meeting, and are voted upon in the same way as
new members. These bylaws have been written and
approved unanimously by the house’s founders Rand,
Calidor, Lindin and Selene; they can answer questions
regarding intentions or verbiage.
