The Ministers of Grace are a household formed in December 2003 within the Celestial Kingdom and dedicated to supporting the Amtgard community as a whole. Like many Amtgard organizations, the Ministers of Grace share a common theme - in this case the idea that the personas of its members are agents of the enigmatic “powers that be.”

Many households or companies make up or adopt various deities to help define their theme, such as the Chosen and their “worship” of "Bob the Unforgiving" or the "One God" of the Church of Dunglen. We use the Powers that Be (PTB) in much the same way. So to answer the aforementioned question the Powers are unnamed benevolent forces at work in the Universe.

The keyword here is benevolent. In an organization dominated by largely evil personas and companies, ours is firmly aligned with the cause of good. That is not to say that our members are required to be paladin-like -- after all there is more to the concept of good than cartoonish Dudley Do-Right morality! Life is more complicated than that and so are we.

Which brings us to this site. Even though our household is young, many of our members have been playing Amtgard for a considerable period of time and have been friends for almost as long. All of which means that our culture is far richer than one might expect given its age. It is our hope that this site will help shed a little light on who we are and how we came to be.
